First Aid training

Hey fellow bloggers, on Monday we did our first aid training. We learnt what to do when someone is unconscious. It was

D - danger (basically if you can see, hear or smell danger then you don't do anything)

R - response (call the persons name or tap them on their collarbone)

S - send for help (call 111 on your phone or the persons phone or see if someone around you has a phone)

A - airway (check if there is anything in the way)

B - breathing (you can feel, see or hear if they are breathing)

C - CPR (if their not breathing then you do CPR on the person if it doesn't work use the next step)

D - defibrillator (the defibrillator is something that gives the person a electric shock and wakes them up)

  1. Kia Ora Natalia, well done on taking part in the First Aid course. DRSABCs are such a great tool to remember for in the event of an emergency - well done! Hopefully you'll never need to use these skills in the future, but at least you'll know what to do if you are found in that situation!
